Brave pawn Festival: July 31 - August 10

The XXII International Festival «Brave pawn» will be held in Novosibirsk from July 31 till August 10. Organizers of the event - the Administration of the Soviet District (Sovetskiy district), the Committee on Youth Affairs and the Administration of Physical Education and Sports of City Hall, the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Novosibirsk region, regional public organization "Our Town." The Festival is held with the purpose of intellectual development of young people and strengthening of inter-regional relations. The children from the cities of Eastern and Western Siberia, Ural, Central Asia, Ukraine, the Far East, totally about 300-350 people, will take part in the «Brave pawn». The Festival includes chess tournaments for players born in 1998-1999 (tournament A), in 2000-2001 (B), in 2002-2003 (C) and quite young – born in 2004 and younger (D). Rating tournament "Our Town" will bring together chess fans with no age limit. The Festival starts at 10 a.m. and will be held at the following addresses: municipal center "Kalejdoskop" (Detskiy proezd, 8), the Gymnasium № 3 (Detskiy proezd, 10). In addition, in the framework of the event children will be offered various games and contests, and also a visit to the Novosibirsk Zoo, the SB RAS (Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences) Museum of Science and Technology, the SB RAS Museum of Geology and the Museum of History of the Soviet’s district development. The official opening of the Festival will take place on August 1 at 10:00 a.m. in art-club "Integral" (Tereshkova Street, 12a). Translation by Monoton Translation Agency. |
