SibAcademInnovation (or SibAkademInnovacia, or SAC - Association of Hi-Tech Companies of Novosibirsk) is ready to invest at least $18.5m to support Novosibirsk Technopark Project. This 48-hectare Scientific And Business Center near Akademgorodok is ambitious $887m project of Novosibirsk Administration and Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS). Technopark faced many troubles and reductions after SBRAS administration had been reelected and the main investor RosEuroGroup had quit the project. For SAC member-companies lack of offices and production facilities near Akademgorodok is one of the main problem. Andrey Remenniy, SAC's director, says that his association also hopes to get tax remissions from Novosibirsk Administration. Poland Property developer Polnord is expecting that the slow down in the sector will last until the middle or end of 2009, but it has already started purchasing land as prices fall. On 30th of October Polnord announced its plans for more investments in Russia, namely Novosibirsk and Moscow. Governmental corporation Russian Nanotechnology (RosNano, rosnano.com), plans to invest $188-377m to develop new scientific projects in Novosibirsk region. Total investment depends on how many well-developed projects can be presented by regional authorities and local innovation companies, says the firm. During last weeks many young scientific companies had meetings with RosNano's representatives. Rosnano expects to choose 10-20 applications for projects by the year-end. Moscow's Ren TV has purchased 88% of Novosibirsk TV channel MKSP, sources in MKSP reported today. RenTV is thought to be in Top-5 of Russian Federal TV channels mainly focused on entertainment programs and analytic news blocks. MKSP used to retranslate less popular channel DTV. The deal's value has not been disclosed yet but is estimated by experts at $4-7m. Novosibirsk snack foods producer Sibirskiy Bereg has postponed the planned launch of a new $6.5m snack foods factory scheduled for the year end in Shandong, China. Difficulties with the project financing were behind the decision. Novosibirsk Region Milicia (Police) have detained the leader of Ashram Shambala, one of Russia's largest sects, in the village Plotnikovo near Novosibirsk. Konstantin Rudnyev, 41, established Ashram Shambala in 1989. The sect operates as a network of "ashrams," or small communities living in the same house or apartment, and has branches in more than 20 major Russian cities, as well as in Ukraine, Greece and Denmark.
