Legendary John McLaughlin will perform at the International Festival SibJazzFest

On June 4 at the jazz concert of Yaron HermanTrio (France), Novosibirsk State Philharmonic
Society presented the program of the International Jazz Festival SibJazzFest, which will take
place at November 2012.

Within the Festival four concerts will take place on the Palace of culture of railway workers stage,
the program of the Festival traditionally will be closed with jam-session, which will take place at
the restaurant of the AZIMUT Hotel Siberia (new name of Sibir hotel).

John McLaughlin will perform in Novosibirsk with group The Fourth Dimension, Jean-Luc
Pont – with his group. Also, performance of Paul Carr Quintet (USA), Carlo Actis Dato Quartet
(Italy), group Creative Collection (USA), The Rosenberg Trio (the Netherlands), Big Band under
conduction of Anatoly Croll will take place within the Festival. International team will present
concert-tribute to Herbie Hancock. Integral and important part of the Sib Jazz Fest program
are joint performances of world jazz stars with Novosibirsk bands: Tricia Boutte (USA) will
sing with the jazz-orchestra «Siberian dixieland», Ken Peplovsky (clarinet, USA) will play with
Vladimir Tolkachev Big Band.

In 2009 the philharmonics resumed the tradition of international jazz festivals, which was broken
in 1990s in Novosibirsk. The festival «Jazz in Jeans» (2009) was first after long break, in 2010
the project took its name «SibJazzFest». In 2012 the Festival will be carried out under same
name. The stars such as Dee Dee Bridgewater, Mike Stern, Nicole Henry, World Saxophone
Quartet and other great artists took part in different editions of the Festival.
